Flamingoes Wessex Synchronised Swimming Club was formed in 1983 and specialises in teaching and promoting the sport of synchronised swimming. Synchro is an Olympic sport that developed from water ballet. It enhances strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry and exceptional breath control. The club takes swimmers from the age of 5 years. Swimmers progress through a system of grades/skills and are awarded a hat, certificate and badge at each level. Competition is encouraged between clubs at local, county, district and national levels. Along with our awards night and holiday courses, we host an annual display in which our swimmers showcase their work over the past year. Team swimming is encouraged and enjoyment and confidence in the water gained. As a member you can become involved in as much or as little as you wish.
